Carl Salzmann

Carl has been practicing law in Indiana for almost 40 years. With his background in law enforcement, prosecution and criminal defense, Carl has experience on all sides of the criminal justice system. It is those decades of experience and expertise that Carl brings to his clients daily.

Carl began his practice of law as a deputy prosecutor in Morgan county and eventually served as the elected Prosecutor in Monroe County for twelve years. After serving the county as prosecutor he transitioned into private practice and began his own firm in 2007.

Carl’s experience extends past solely the practice of law to his service as the Paralegal Program Chair at the Indiana Vocational Technical College. Carl also sits in as judge pro tempore for several Monroe County Circuit Courts.

Carl has experience in many areas of the law, but specifically focuses on criminal defense. He practices primarily in the counties surrounding Monroe county and the south central Indiana region.

Emily Salzmann

Emily practices criminal defense law in Monroe county and has focused on developing relationships and expertise in the local criminal justice system since 2012. Emily went to law school locally and began her relationship with Salzmann Law as a part time secretary, and then as a certified legal intern while in law school.

Emily is fluent in Spanish and enjoys using her language skills to represent her clients. Emily began studying Spanish at the age of 5 and it is a lifelong joy of hers. Emily began law school with an interest in immigration law as well as criminal law and interned at an immigration law firm during law school.

Emily also has experience on the judicial side of the criminal justice system, completing a clerkship for a Judge in Morgan county during law school. Emily currently serves as judge pro tempore for several Monroe County Circuit Court Judges.

Emily began her interest in the criminal justice system with a focus in forensic psychology. This led to a major in criminal justice and the eventual decision to pursue a career as an attorney. Emily has focused on criminal law, either solely or in tandem with immigration law, since the very beginning of her legal career.

Jana E. Banschbach

Jana is an attorney concentrating her practice in the areas of Family Law (including DCS Cases), Protective Orders, and Expungements.

Jana is also a Registered Domestic Relations Mediator. She has experience working with parents and guardians in family law cases a volunteer at the Viola J. Taliaferro Family and Children Mediation clinic at Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

Jana understands the challenged clients face when confronted with a legal dispute and is motivated to deliver exceptional legal services to her clients to allow them to move forward in their lives.
Jana earned her Bachelors of Arts degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She received her Juris Doctorate from Indiana University Maurer school of law in Bloomington, Indiana.
